Tattoo Aftercare
Follow these instructions. Proper aftercare gives your tattoo the space to heal, settle, and remain beautiful for years to come.
Remove bandage.
Follow the instructions provided at your appointment for when to remove your bandage.
Keep it clean.
Once removed, gently wash your tattoo with clean hands and an antibacterial, fragrance-free soap. Use lukewarm water and your fingertips—never scrub.
Pat the area dry with a clean paper towel and allow it to fully air dry before applying any aftercare product.
Moisturize.
Once your tattoo has dried, apply a very thin layer of fragrance-free moisturizer.
Aquaphor is recommended.
Your tattoo should never feel excessively greasy or coated. A little goes a long way.
Continue moisturizing as needed throughout the healing process, especially if the skin feels dry or tight.
Let it breathe.
Wear clean, loose-fitting clothing whenever possible and avoid unnecessary friction or pressure on the tattoo.
Do not:
-
Pick, scratch, peel, or pull at flaking skin
-
Scrub or exfoliate the tattoo
-
Shave directly over the tattoo while healing
-
Apply perfume, fragrance, oils, or harsh products to the area
Flaking and itching are normal parts of healing. Let the skin shed naturally.
Avoid soaking and swimming.

Sunlight.
Once the tattoo has completely healed, always apply sunscreen when exposing it to the sun. UV exposure can fade tattoo pigment over time.
Healing process.
Your tattoo will gradually heal over the next few weeks.
You may notice some dryness, peeling, or light itching as your skin heals. This is completely normal.
Keep caring for your tattoo, keep it moisturized, and let your skin heal naturally.
